Cumulus Collectif is a young design studio based in Lyon, France. This collective of designers and developers specializes in motion design. Or Bar-el is a recent graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Jerusalem. This film, BEAT is his graduation film and his first attempt at 3D animation. You will discover the story of a cubic character who tirelessly repeats the same task, until that moment when his pencil falls which changes the rhythmic sound that was previously the same. With its 24 different books and so many stories, Tintin is one of the most sold characters of all time. And with its official movie being released in a couple of days with Steven Spielberg’s production, it gave some designers a good idea to produce their own promotionel asset for the movie. Ray Parker and Tom Szczesniak edited a motion design video featuring the 24 books and different characters of the story.

David Pocull & Thiago Maia teamed up and created an arty motion design and art agency called Cake. And since they’re, with a lot of humor, considering themselves as Cake cookers, they created a showreel for 2011, mixing all of their baked projects. Julien Martorell is mostly known under the nickname Ping-Ouh. This young motion-designer has an amazing talent covering all of his disciplines. He lives in Paris and work with advertising agencies. In fact 2011 was probably his year with prestigious clients such as Jamiroquai, The North face, and the french bank Credit Agricole. Meet Buck is a short animation movie made by 4 very talented visual artists. Denis Bouyer, Laurent Monneron, Vincent E Sousa and Yann De Preval got together to create an amazing story about a character named Buck. Buck is pretty much like every guy around, except for one thing, he’s a deer. And that Sunday afternoon, when Buck wanted to see his Girlfriends, her father came in and discovered that his little girl was going out with nothing but a deer. And that is not really accepted by a hunter. The animation (Watch it in High Definition), is seriously stunning. Smart Car – Against Dumb

The New Yorker Agency Strawberry Frog published a couple days ago a motion design video made for the car brand Smart. Their aim is to understand why people are being that “dumb” when it’s in fact really easy to be “smart”. The video show us examples of dumb facts that makes us live in an un-ecological world and demonstrates that an easier and healthier life can be possible. The video was made under the direction of Buck with the help of Orion Tait (Creation Director)

Shop Vac – Typographic video

It’s one of these time where we are really amazed by an artist work. Shop Vac is in fact a song by Jonathan Coulton, a new yorker musician, singer and song writer. But what is really amazing here is the creation made by a designer named Jarret Heather and who created a whole video based on typographic work and motion design. Jarrett used photoshop, Illustrator, After Effect, Premiere and Toon Boom Animate to create this amazing piece of art we’re hoping you’ll enjoy as much as we did.

For the italian release in Venice of the new Swatch Creart collection (a watch collection made by artist), Swatch asked the danish design and motion studio Thank You to work on a new campaign that goes along with the watches. Thank You created 4 videos on a simple theme: The Art Machine. It’s a conceptual machine that creates watches from colors and music. These are amazing.

Octopus is an amazing and intriguing video project directed by JoliPunk. We can see a woman with octopus feet coming out of her mouth and nose. A tad scary but very well done project. The motion were made by Steve Morel, and the soundtrack by Datafone.
