Vivian Maier is an American street photographer who lived from 1926 to 2009. She worked as a nanny full-time in New York and Chicago, and spent her free time taking pictures with her Rolleiflex : buildings, children, herself and the world around her. She has conducted more than 100,000 pictures between the 50’s and 70’s and has never thought to take advantage of her shots. It is John Maloof discovered her photos by chance after her death and who undertook to develop the negatives and make her work known. He explained the circumstances of this discovery on the blog dedicated to her. Still a great unknown artist in his time, which will see the fame and the honors posthumously.
