Showa-Cho House by Fujiwaramuro

in : Design

Showa-Cho is a calm residential suburb near Osaka in Japan. However, people have ben crowding over there, and houses are becoming more and more present. WHen Fujiwaramuro Architects were given the charge of building a house with only 4 meters large, they decided to make an unsual thing, and went and build a house which’s more into height. One house, 42 square meters of building area and up to 108 square meters of living area. Shintaro Fujiwara and Yoshio Muro, the two architects behind this project designed this between 2006 and 2007 for a final building in 2008.

The house is divided in two big areas, on the road side is a large Living Roo using all the height spaces with a big window. On the yard side, the ground floor and the last and fourth floor are made of bedrooms, the first floor of a lavatory and bathroom, and finally the third floor presents a kitchen and a desktop area. Photographies were taken by Nacasa & Co. Check out also the Fujiwaramuro Architeture‘s website.
