After the latest Toyota Ad created for the Super Bowl it’s the korean brand Kia who’s up in a 1.30 minute spot featuring top model Adriana Lima, Chuck Lidell & the rock band Motley Crue. Entitled A Dream Car For real Life the video sets a couple in bed, sleeping and dreaming thanks to a little help from an elf. But as in most big productions … “Something went terribly wrong”. Digitals is an hymn to digital native people that we are. It’s in fact inspired by a true story. When Chris Crutchfield got in less than 5 seconds an email, a phone call, an SMS, a facebook message and two tweets, he thought that all of that combined could do an actual song. Mix the whole thing with a door knock, some Google Chat pop ups, Zynga’s notifications & a couple of ambiance sounds and you got yourself a pretty good video. Chris Crutchfield is the guy behind Direction, Editing & Music Creation, helped by Pierce Cook for the cinematography. More info on the author’s website

The upcoming Super Bowl is probably the most followed event in the US with its flat screens, hot dogs & 100 Millions of americans watching it. & yet Bill Maher, wanted to show everyone how the Super bowl was an inside controversy with its system of redistributing the money to all teams equally (& even disadvantaging the last winners). Fraser Davidson created a 2 minutes animation around this audio sequence taken from Bill Maher’s book “The New New Rules: A Funny Look at How Everybody but Me Has Their Head Up Their Ass”. It mixes graphic design, typography and fun.

We don’t do a lot of timelapse on Whitezine. In fact our last article featuring a timelapse video is more than two years old, & Scenes from a rooftop was one of of our most read articles in 2009. Back in 2012, we’re featuring the work of Alexander Bergan. The Russian photographer and video editor shoots a lot of landscapes, so when he’s in Murmansk, he got the idea of creating a city timelapse, showing even some sets using both timelapse & travelling effect.
